Scott & Cary Go Solo at the Competitive Mt. Taylor Quadrathlon

Cole places 3rd in Age Division at road bike, run, ski and snowshoe event

(2.19.05) Grants, New Mexico – Scott flew south to meet up with teammate Cary to race solo up an extinct volcano in the New Mexico Desert. The event took racers from Grants, NM, (6,450') to the top of Mt Taylor (11,301') and back again. Rather than sunny Southwest hospitality, Cary and Scott were greated with wet, windy, and wild conditions at the summit. Living at 7,500 feet in Golden, Colorado, Cary had no problems with the thin air, but Scott was breathing heavy. Read Scott's account here.

Cary's next venture is the Elk Mountain Traverse (April 1, 2005)
