Cary Kinross-Wright battles Leadville 100 mile trail run

Leadville is among the most challenging ultra runs in the country-- remaining above 9,000 feet for 100 miles

(8.17.2003) Leadville, CO – With less than optimal training under her belt, Cary lined up at 3:30 am at the starting line in Leadville, CO, staring directly in the face of a grueling 100 mile trail run. The year before she had conquered Vermont's 100 mile event in just a hair over 24 hours of nonstop running. A similar feat in the high elevation mountains of Colorado would demand an even harder physical and mental effort. Please enjoy Cary's great race report, full of sweat, blood, and tears and a promise to return in 2004.
