Team Nomad readies for New Zealand Departure
Megan Gridley joins Scott Berk, Scott
Cole, and Grant Sisler in final preparations for
2003 Southern Traverse
(10.18.03) San Francisco & Boston
-- Megan Gridley,
an ironman qualifier and competitive road runner,
has officially joined Team Nomad for the Southern
Traverse on the Otago Peninsula in Southeast New
Zealand. Gridley and Sisler will put together
a final week of training in the Bay Area, while
Berk and Cole finalize team logistics. A few days
before Halloween, Nomad will depart the northern
hemisphere and roundezvous in Christchurch, pick
up the support van, and begin the week long task
of time-zone adjustment and field reconnaissance.
Nomad hopes to lessen their out-of-town disadvantage
by scanning the penguin-filled coastline and tussock-filled
grasslands of the Otago region prior to game-time.

reconnaissance reports on our website
